1. Dave Parker LA
Parker is an increadible player. He does everything well. After hitting .306 his rookie year, Parker has not hit below .312 any season (.342 lifetime). He has never hit fewer than 30 homers in a season (over 750 lifetime). Despite all of this, he is probably the best fielding outfielder in the league when you consider, FA, AS, and speed, which is why he gets the nod over the Babe.
2. Babe Ruth FLA
Babe ruth. His name says it all. pretty much everything that needs to be said about Ruth can be said by simply listing the stats he put up in his 4th season. .412 AVG, 178 Runs, 95 Homers, 201 RBI and 18 Stolen Bases.
3. Darryl Strawberry CIN
Strawberry, who is having a career year, has been a great slugger in his ten year career. He has great speed to go with great power and a cannon for an arm. Great centerpiece for the Reds.
4. Reggie Jackson NYY
Reggie is one of the great home run hitters in the league. He swings for the fence every at bat and often sends the ball over the wall. He has raised his average in recent years to hot over .300 three times.
5. Lance Berkman TEX
Berkman has been a very steady power hitter and run producer in his 4 and a half seasons in the bigs. He seems to keep getting better as well, as last season saw career highs in runs, hits, homers, RBI, and stolen bases.
6. Randy Birch FLA
As another one of the great power hitters for Florida, Birch has had a great career and is still continuing to produce. With a .307 lifetime average and close to 400 HR, Birch is a very solid help for the Marlins.
7. Al Simmons LA
The socond great right fielder on the Dodgers, Simmons is a great average hitter and has shown flashes of great power. his weakness is arm strength, but that has not stopped him from being a great outfielder.
8. Larry Walker OAK
Walker is another of the high average veriety of outfielder. Though he has a .308 career average and has played great, he seems to have not yet played up to his full potential.
9. Reggie Smith DET
Another pure "swing for the fence" type hitter, Smith has steadily hit home runs and stolen bases over his career. As he ages he seems to continue his ways and keep contributing for the Tigers.
10. Charlie Konikowski CHA
Konikowski is a power/speed guy, and a pretty good one. He hits about 25 homers a year and steals about 25 bases a year. He seems to be the kind of guy that could post a 30/30 season any time. Time will tell.
