1. Alfonzo Soriano (KC)
Perennial All-Star, has hit for average and power, while stealing a ton of bases throughout his career.
2. Rex Hudler (PHI)
One of the best table setters in the game. In rookie season of ’25 he was a 30-30 man.
3. Craig Biggio (TEX)
Would hit leadoff in a lot of lineups. He’s battled injuries the last couple of season’s but still one of the best second baseman in the game.
4. Charlie Gehringer (NYN)
Excellent player who is on pace to hit over 40 homers this season.
5. Paul Molitor (SEA)
Tremendous table setter has now scored over 1300 career runs.
6. Toby Harrah (HOU)
Only a .261 lifetime hitter, but is on pace for his third consecutive 30 homerun season.
7. B.J. Upton (CIN)
Still waiting for this guy to really breakout, but has all the makings of a star player.
8. Bobby Avilla (SF)
At 28, he’s hoping to build on 19 homer season of a year ago.
9. Johnny Hodapp (BAL)
Has been a steady fixture in the O’s lineup for the past 10 seasons.
10. Bill Doran (LA)
When healthy, has provided a ton of stolen bases and runs throughout his career.

The Top 10 Second Basemen in Habla
With the Catchers and First Basemen done, we continue around the horn to the Second Basemen. These ever important middle infielders need to be able to turn 2, as well as provide runs for the offense. There are certainly some players on this list that are very important to their respective clubs. Habla's top 10 Second Basemen. (Thanks to Steve for compiling the list).

The Top 10 First Basemen in Habla
Today we look at First Basemen. Unlike catchers, First Base is one of the most stacked positions in Habla. Thus, we had to leave off some VERY good players. The list below is the best of the best. Any owner would be a fool not to want one of these Studs in the middle of his lineup. Tell us who we got right and who we missed. Click on the name for career stats. The top 10 first basemen, gentlemen.

1. Lou Gehrig (BAL)
Lou Gehrig has it all. He can hit for average (career .347), hit for power (566 career HR), run the bases (297 career SB), and field (.984 fielding). Lou is one of the most valuable players in Habla and has shown it by keeping his team in contention almost single handedly for a number of seasons.
2. Jimmie Foxx (MN)
Jimmie Foxx has been a human clinic of power in his 17 seasons in Habla. His 800+ Home runs speak for themselves as does his career .305 AVG. Nearing the end of his career, Foxx has recently been moved to the Twins where he hopes to win a championship before he retires.
3. Rickey Davis (MN)
Yes, I know. It is ridiculous that Minnesota has the #2 AND #3 first basemen in Habla, but what are ya gonna do? Davis has been the centerpiece of the Twins offense for a decade and is continuing to put up big numbers in his 30’s. A good indicator of Davis’ abilities is the fact that he won the AL MVP last year having played only 126 games.
4. Luke Easter (MTL)
Easter was recently dealt from the Rangers to the Expos to be the start of a rebuilding process. He is a good candidate, as he has frightening power and a great average to go with a great glove at first.
5. Ted Kluzewski (CIN)
TK was the lone dominant power hitter for a team built for speed and OBP. This allowed him to show what he was made of and pound 50 homers in ’26. This former #1 overall is among the best in the league at what he does.
6. Gil Hodges (TEX)
Gil has been the benchmark for great first basemen in the league. With an average season that looks like that of an MVP candidate, Gil combines average, power, and consistency to be a very potent weapon in the Rangers lineup.
7. Harmon Killabrew (OAK)
Having played his entire career with Oakland, Harmon has amassed over 500 HR and almost 1500 RBI. Having hit more than 50 homers 3 times, he has become a dominant power hitter year in and year out.
8. Kent Hrbek (FLA)
Hrbek had one of the best rookie performances of any player in Habla history and has continued with a great career. After leaving Toronto via Free agency 2 years ago, he has now joined up with Babe Ruth and Joe Jackson in one of the most feared lineups Habla has ever seen.
9. Kevin Young (LA)
Young has played his entire career in LA and has been one of the primary power hitters and run producers the whole time. He is known for his power, but his average is better than his CH numbers would lead you to expect.
10. Will Clark (SEA)
"Will the Thrill" has lead the way for first basemen to be primarily contact hitters. In 8 full seasons he has only hit below .304 once. On top of that, he still manages to hit about 25 dingers a year and has had an OPS of over .900 twice.

The Top 10 Catchers in Habla
We start a new series today looking at the top 10 players at each position in Habla. First up is the catchers. This is by far the weakest position in Habla; one where defensive consistency is as important as offensive output. Many teams look for that guy to simply be a role player. The guys on this list, however, go beyond filling a role. They are prime hitters in their respective lineups as well as key defenders. Here are the Top 10 cathcers in Habla.
*Thanks to Steve from PGH for the help.
** Click on the name for career stats.

1. Roy Campanella (SEA)
His .305 career average and 364 career homeruns speaks for themselves. Career Pirate will hope to continue his dominance at the plate for Seattle.
2. Brandon Inge (CIN)
He is coming off a tremendous 2026 season, one that saw him hit .309 with 29 homers and 81 rbi. Very Solid for a backstop.
3. Joey Mauer (KC)
He is off to an incredible start in the 2027 season. At just 23, he is already one of the best catchers in the league and will be for many years to come.
4. Crash Davis (LAD)
Like Campanella, Davis is suiting up for a new club this year. After 14 seasons as the backstop for the White Sox, he will bring his 370+ career homers to Los Angeles.
5. Brook Fordyce (BAL)
He is a career .296 hitter who averages close to 20 homeruns per season and has driven in close to 1000 runs.
6. Cooper Walker (CHA)
Walker is really coming into his own as a power hitter. He hit 55 homeruns during the 2025-2026 campaigns.
7. Bill Dickey (DET)
He is a tremendous defender, who can hit for average and power. He has hit 24 or more homers in a season 4 times.
8. Matthew Lecroy (PIT)
He has found a home in Pittsburgh. After riding the pine for several years, he now has a full time gig with the Pirates and his showing the potential to be a top catcher.
9. Benjie Molina (COL)
This strong-armed catcher is a serious power threat for the Rockies. He just surpassed 300 homeruns for his career.
10. John Hough (CLE)
He is a very good fielder with plenty of power. In his first full season, he showed what he could do in 2026, posting a .274 average with 23 homers and 74 rbi.

Rookie of The Year Candidates
Today’s topic takes a look at the top rookies so far this year and which players seem to be the front runners for the Rookie of The Year. This early in the season it is really hard to tell, but I will give it a shot. Please feel free to disagree and make a case for your guy. (Thanks to Steve from PIT for contributing to this article).
NL
1. P Ben McDonald (STL) 5-0 W/L 1.22 ERA 44.1 IP 38 K 7/5 S/QS
McDonald has not only been one of the best rookies so far, he has been one of the best pitchers so far in the NL. He is the main reason the Cardinals are winning their division and appear to be a lagitimate playoff contender.
2. RF Bobby Abreu (PIT) .287 AVG 14 HR 38 RBI
Abreu is the second player on this list to find himself on a new team just a few months before he made his rookie debut. Abreu has the phisical gifts to make him a stud power hitter that maintains a high average as well. Will we see hit true colors his rookie year?
3. CF Johnny Damon (SD) .288 AVG 5 HR 12 RBI 11 SB
Damon has been just what the doctor ordered, or at least what Padre fans wanted in a leadoff hitter. In the early going, he is hitting above .300 and is on pace for close to 50 stolen bases.
4. P Bart Johnson (COL) 2-1 W/L 3.60 ERA 45.0 IP 46 K 7/5 S/QS
Johnson is fooling many a batter so far with a good slider. Thus far, he has outperformed teammates Dontrelle Willis and Jack Fischer to help keep his club close to .500.
5. RF Cliff Floyd (STL) .305 AVG 6 HR 19 RBI 5 SB
It was a difficult choice to put Floyd here instead of Turkey Stearns, but in the end, Floyd has produced better on the field and has better ratings (this season). Floyd is another of the talented rookies on the Cardinals who has a shot at winning the NL ROY.
AL
1. P Tom Glavine (MIN) 6-0 W/L 2.05 ERA 44 IP 59 K 6/5 S/QS
Glavine, like McDonald, is apparently not trying to with the rookie of the Year Award, but the Cy Young! Glavine has been spectacular in his first month and a half pitching for the Twins and is pitching the best out of a staff that looks like a hall of fame ballot. Need I say more?
2. P Tomo Okha (SEA) 4-3 W/L 3.42 ERA 55.1 IP 49 K 8/6 S/QS
Ohka has made a nice contribution to the solid start of the Mariners. His sinkerball and tremendous control should keep him in a lot of ball games.
3. OF Jeromy Burnitz (BOS) .295 AVG 4 HR 15 RBI
Burnitz has been unable to find his homerun stroke. However, he is hitting close to .300, and is proving that he is a serious threat.
4. 1B Mike Glavine (TOR) .270 AVG 7 HR 16 RBI
Glavine is off to a nice start for the Blue Jays. He’s showing that he can hit for power and is very patient at the plate, allowing him to get on base frequently.
5. P Cal Loftus (OAK) 3-3 W/L 3.31 ERA 51.2 IP 21 K 7/6 S/QS
Loftus has been a pleasant surprise for the A’s. While not overpowering, he has been steady and solid. Already, he has amassed 2 complete games, and leads the team in innings pitched.

2027 Sleeper Teams
Well guys, we are a few sims into the season. The early battles for power have begun and we see that their are some amazing races heating up. Some teams we expected to be good and they are not. Others have surprised us by being hot out of the gate. Thats what I want to focus on today: The Sleeper Teams of 2027.
1. NL East: Mets
The Mets were picked by their own owner to finish 4th in the division, but a few sims in they see themselves right in the mix to compete for the division title or the wildcard. The young pitchers have pitched well and consistent, which makes this team capable of impressing this year.
2. NL Central: Cardinals and Pirates
The Cardinals finished with the third pick in the draft last year, and without making too many moves, now see themselves atop their division. Ben McDonald, the key player they did get throught trade, has been sensational and may be the guy that puts St Louis back on top.
The Pirates are the other sleeper team in this division. After trading some of the greatest names in habla for stud youngsters, the new team has impressed. Picked to finish 3rd in their division, they would win the wild card if the season ended today.
3. NL West: Padres
The Padres had the 2nd pick in last years draft in which they took Chris Carpenter, who has yet to face a batter in the bigs. However, that has not kept the Padres from currently sitting one game out of the wild card and only a few games back in their division. Could we see a turnaround?
4. AL East: Yankees
The Yankees have hovered around the top for several years, but they never had that team to threaten for a pennant. It appeared they were on the way down, as they were picked to finish 3rd in their division. Now, they are 1st in their division and the second best team in the AL.
5. AL Central: Royals
The Royals were picked to finish last in their division by fearless, but they were also the hottest team in baseball for the first three sims. The pitching has been better than expected and the hitting has been ripping the cover off the ball. This team appears to have a great shot at making the playoffs.
6. AL West: Mariners
The Mariners are a young team on a rebuilding road. They finished in the bottom quarter last season, but are in the mix this season. Only a game and a half out of the wild card, the Mariners look to make a move and get to the playoffs the year after picking 7th in the draft.

Offseason Activity Hits All-time High
This past offseason saw trades at record number. The sheer volume was mind boggling. Page after page of deals were recorded on the
completed trades page (Thanks to Jim for maintaining that!). However, it was not only the volume of trades that was notable, but also the big names that changed hands. Ruth, Aaron, Foxx and on and on it goes. So here is my question: What were the biggest moves of the past month? What moves will have the biggest impact in the wins column? Were there any bonehead moves this offseason? Let us discuss.
